Good race but ......
Supper was great but.....
Love your new hair cut but .....
That was a great ride but....
How many of you have heard a form of those sentences? That one word can change everything.
But. The one word that makes everything before it mean absolutely nothing.
Over the last year I have been trying very hard to eliminate the word but from my vocabulary. It is much harder then onenwould thing.
I grew up with a lot of buts. There was lots of buts in the early years of my marriage and even today I am always waiting for the but.
There is some major changes happening in my life right now and with that I am catching myself often saying but if I do a instead of b or but what if. Or I have improved so much but I want more.
This word needs to leave my life.
I am happy with where I am in life. No let me rephrase that. My life is better than I ever expected. No buts.
I have had my struggles and achievements in the past and there is no need to compare myself to what use to happen.
Here I proclaim that there are no more buts in my life. I am also giving you all permission to stop me if you do catch me saying but.
See you all next week
