I was feeling very down about my year and really struggling with finding the good of the year.
As I read back on my last blog post I notice a couple things:
1. I said I was taking the year off from blogging and I did.
2. GRACE was my word for 2019 and boy oh boy did I ever have to give myself lots if it.
I could write for days and days of all the negative that has happened over the last 12ish months. However I don't want to dwell on them and must shift my mind to the positive.
I have decided to share with all my triumphs of the year. They may seem small and not important but with out them my year was pretty dark.
In 2019 I mastered thawing out a frozen septic system. It started with calls to Ian to talk me through it and by the end of winter i wouldn't even call to let him know I was working on it.
I found a system that I was able to fees a large round hay bale in a hay net on my own without a tractor or any of the horses getting out.
I was able to get over my fear of ladders and fix some well issues.
I am getting better at asking for help with things that i just cant do on my own.
Proper budgets and living a simple life may not be exciting, however it sure is nice to have the money there when you need it.
I can be better every day. Change is scary and unknown. It is also freeing and beautiful.
Some of the other biggest take aways from the year are that, No matter how much my kids fight with me they live me deeply, my husband is my biggest cheerleader. My health, emotional, mental and physical are extremely important and must be my top priority.
Some of the big things that happened in our lives this year that helped me grow and made me cry happy and sad were:
- Ian broke his wrist
- Kiera bought a new horse
- Biked the legacy trail as a family
- Jayden was able to gain the confidence to do math in his head
- Kiera harvested her first deer
- My grandma has been in and out of good health
- Jayden found joy in public speaking
- My mom had two strokes
- Ian was laid off
The list is full of everyone but me, because this year I focused on keeping everything running smoothly and looking after my family. I really let me slip. Which brings me to 2020, time to move myself up the list.
I will be back to blogging in 2020 what topics would you like me to write on.
