continue to laying out the articles until you reach a look that you like. In this wall hanging I used a hooded towel as the back. Once you are happy with how it looks take a picture. Take a measurement of how big it is. Cut out a piece of batting to the size of measurement you took. Lie out your backing making sure there are no wrinkles. Spray the backing with a even coat of your choice of basting spray. I like using 505. Place batting on backing and using your hands press it firmly in place. Add pieces one at a time referring back to the photo you took earlier. Pin the piece in place, use as many pins as you feel you need. I am not a person who likes using pins, however in this project I over kill on pins as I don't want anything to shift or move. As you put pieces down trim the clothes so that it doesn't get really thick. As you lay more article down make sure to remove pins from under pieces that are getting covered. Sometimes as I am working on memory projects the layout changes as I go. Nothing is set in stone until it is sewn or cut. Keep on layering and pinning Keep on going. tart sewing down pieces. Making sure to sew close all openings. Remove all pins as you go. Watch your piece of work come to life. Also if you are making this for one of your own kids, enjoy all the memories that come back as you work on it. The last and final thing to do is hang your project and take a picture. There you have it. A great first birthday memory.
