It has been a crazy and stressful July. In early July we lost one of our fainting goat nanny's to a twisted uterus. We brought home a new horse paint gelding who we now call Lincoln and that has been going well. Something broke our fence and Lincoln decided to go check out the hay land. Lucky no one else left and no one got any cuts or scratches. When we were fixing the fence I flipped the quad and hurt my good ankle and my right shoulder. But the fence got fixed and all the ponies were happy. We got the new goat pasture fenced off and the goats are adjusting well to their new home. Yesterday was by far the worst day of July. My appy mare who has a 2 month old foal at side. Was acting strange. We decided to call te vet out and she was diagnosed with strangulated lipoma which is a rare form of colic that old horses are pron to. She was an 18 year old mare who had 8 babies and national show points. We had to put her down night. It was really hard on me and I am still trying to figure out if there was something I could have done. But the vet says there is nothing I could have done to prevent or change the outcome of the situation Good bye July and we are looking forward to a better August
